CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Warm Yoigloo'( WARM IGLOO, IGLOO SERIES) PP19168
Decorative Chrysanthemum, Warm Igloo Hardy Chrysanthemum
Pleasing double bronze-orange blossoms adorn this handsome chrysanthemum in early autumn. Unlike many fall mums, it is cold hardy, so it will reliably overwinter.
In spring, this large clump-forming herbaceous perennial puts forth dense stems lined with medium green, fragrant, lobed leaves. In late spring to early summer it should be pinched back to ensure a more uniform shape and to increase the density of flower buds for fall. Flowers appear in late summer to early fall and will continue blooming for several weeks afterward. Its double orange-bronze blooms cover the spherical mounds of foliage.
Mums grow best in full sun and garden loam with good drainage. Mass Warm Igloo in mixed borders with orange and black pansies, purple asters and ornamental kales. In containers it looks handsome accessorized with a variety of gourds, Indian corn and heirloom pumpkins.
Igloo mums are not well-suited for spring forcing for the florist trade.
