CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'White Reagan'( REAGAN SERIES) PP08784
Florists' Chrysanthemum, Single Chrysanthemum
The chrysanthemum 'White Reagan' produces sprays of medium-sized, white, greenish-eyed "daisies" on tall stems that are suitable for cutting. The 2.5- to 3-inch-wide (6.5 to 7.5 cm), single to semi-double, long-lasting blooms appear in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens will flower 7 weeks after 3 weeks of "long-night" treatment (13.5 hours or more). A member of the Reagan Series of mums, this vegetatively propagated cultivar is grown for the cut-flower trade.
Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and for greenhouse and cut-flower displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage. Hundreds of mum varieties are grown today.
Like most mums, those in the Reagan Series thrive in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium.
