CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yellow Yowoodstock'( YELLOW WOODSTOCK, WOODSTOCK SERIES) PP15466
The "anemone-type" chrysanthemum Yellow Woodstock produces sprays of large yellow-petaled blossoms with broad, yellow-green, pincushion-shaped centers. The 4-inch-wide (10 cm), semi-double blooms are borne on bushy, rounded,, 10- to 14-inch (25 to 35 cm) plants. Bloom is in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens can be brought into bloom at other seasons, with plants flowering approximately 8 weeks after 2 weeks of "long nights" (13.5 hours or more). This vegetatively propagated mum was introduced by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio. It is grown and sold as a seasonal pot plant.
Encompassing thousands of cultivars, Chrysanthemum × morifolium is a long-time favorite for fall gardens and greenhouse displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has been cultivated and bred for many centuries. Modern mums bloom in numerous hues and shapes. The blossoms are held in clusters above clumps of fragrant, deeply lobed leaves.
Like most mums, Yellow Woodstock thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Disbudded plants produce extra-large blooms.
