CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yobrigitte'( BRIGITTE™ WHITE, BRIGITTE™ SERIES) PP11843
The "decorative" chrysanthemum Brigitte™ White bears masses of 2-inch-wide (5 cm), snow-white, early fall blooms on dense, mounded, 10- to 12-inch (25 to 30 cm) plants. The central petals are cream-tinged. Cultivars in the Brigitte™ Series were introduced by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio.
The showy double blooms and pungent, lobed leaves of decorative chrysanthemums are familiar to most gardeners. These herbaceous perennials originated in eastern Asia, where they have been bred and selected for many centuries. Decorative mums such as those in the Brigitte™ Series are customarily planted in late summer for seasonal display.
Like most decorative mums, Brigitte™ Series cultivars thrive in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Although typically used as seasonal annuals, they can function as garden perennials in USDA hardiness zones 6 through 9. Pinch plants back in late spring or early summer to encourage a neater habit and heavier fall flowering.
