CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yobrunswick'(BRUNSWICK™) PP16545
Single Spoon Chrysanthemum
Bred for use as a seasonal container plant, this "spoon" chrysanthemum produces numerous large, daisy-like blossoms with spoon-shaped white petals. The 3-inch-wide (8 cm), single blooms open in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown plants can be forced into flower at other seasons. The bushy, rounded plants grow 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) high. This vegetatively propagated cultivar was introduced and patented by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio.
C. × morifolium originated in eastern Asia, where this herbaceous perennial has been cultivated and bred for many centuries. Its many cultivars are grown for their showy blooms, which are borne above clumps of fragrant, deeply lobed leaves.
Like most mums, Brunswick™ thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Pinch back developing flowering stems to encourage a tidier habit and heavier flowering.
