CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yolindsay'(LINDSAY™ CORAL) PP21175
Decorative Chrysanthemum, Hardy Chrysanthemum
The hardy chrysanthemum Lindsay™ Coral produces numerous double, dusty coral-pink blossoms on densely branched, rounded, 8- to 12-inch (20 to 30 cm) plants. The 2-inch-wide (5 cm), many-petaled blooms appear from early- to mid-autumn, relatively late in the fall "mum" season. This vegetatively propagated cultivar was developed by Mark A. Smith of Fort Myers, Florida, and patented in 2010 by Syngenta Crop Protection AG, Basel, Switzerland.
Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and greenhouse displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage. Hundreds of mum varieties are grown in modern gardens.
Like most mums, Lindsay™ Coral thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Although typically planted as seasonal annuals, most hardy mums can be used as border perennials in USDA hardiness zones 6 through 9. Pinch back developing flowering stems to encourage a tidier habit and heavier flowering.
