Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yotiffany'( TIFFANY™ WHITE, TIFFANY™ SERIES) PP17425
Fully double, white, cream-centered blooms cover this early-flowering mum in late summer and early fall. This Yoder Brothers introduction adopts a perfect compact, spreading, cushion habit and was bred by Mark A. Smith of Fort Myers, Florida.
In spring, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial has dense, branched stems lined with rich green, fragrant, lobed leaves. Its showy flowers are uniform and densely cover the mounded plant. They are visited by butterflies as the insects prepare to migrate, lay eggs or find shelter for winter.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals including Tiffany™ White. Plants are more reliably hardy if you wait to cut their spent branches back in mid-spring. Spring is also the best time to divide them, if necessary. Cushion mums are often pinched back in late spring or early summer to encourage a neater habit and heavier fall flowering.
The bright, neutral flowers of Tiffany™ White will compliment any colorful fall display and add a fresh touch to fall container plantings and tabletop displays.
