CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Yoyukon'(YUKON™) PP17433
Incurve Chrysanthemum
Yukon™ chrysanthemum produces large double white blossoms with incurved petals. The 5-inch-wide (12.5 cm) blooms appear in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens can be brought into flower at other seasons, with plants blooming approximately 8 weeks after 2 weeks of "long nights" (13.5 hours or more). This vegetatively propagated mum was introduced by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio. It is typically grown and sold as a single-stemmed pot plant.
Encompassing thousands of cultivars, Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and greenhouse displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage.
Like most mums, Yukon™ thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Disbudded plants produce extra-large blooms.
