CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Zesty Yovictoria'( ZESTY VICTORIA™, VICTORIA™ SERIES) PP15323
Zesty Victoria™ chrysanthemum bears masses of double lilac-pink blooms on low, dense, mounded plants. The 1.5-inch-wide (3.5 cm) blossoms appear from late summer to early fall. Cultivars in the Victoria™ Series were introduced by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio.
The showy blooms and pungent, deeply lobed leaves of garden chrysanthemums are familiar elements of modern gardens. These herbaceous perennials originated in eastern Asia, where they have been bred and treasured for many centuries. "Decorative" mums (including those in the Victoria™ Series) are usually planted in late summer for seasonal display.
Like most "decorative" mums, Victoria™ Series cultivars prefer full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Although typically used as seasonal annuals, they can be employed as hardy perennials in USDA hardiness zones 6 through 9. Pinch plants back in late spring or early summer to encourage a neater habit and heavier fall flowering.
