CLEMATIS 'Blue Ravine'
Blue Ravine Clematis, Clematis, Early Large-flowered Clematis
Clematis ’Blue Ravine’ is a vine that has large pale blue-violet flowers with darker veins that bloom from late spring through early fall. The petals are oval with a sharp point that makes each flower look like a multi-armed star. The enter is velvety royal purple with the cluster of pollen-carrying anthers.
Clematis vine prefers a position with at least five to six hours of sun per day and fertile, well-drained soil. Prune this cultivar in early spring to retain plant height to an area of healthy bud pairs on each stem. Remove any and all dead or diseased stems, too. ‘Blue Ravine’ can be used to dress up a wall, trellis, or arbor, or it can be allowed to scramble over shrubs or into small trees.
