Poulsen Roses

Family

Ranunculaceae

Botanical Name

CLEMATIS 'Evitwo'(ARCTIC QUEEN™) PP10167

Plant Common Name

Arctic Queen Clematis, Clematis

General Description

In summer, the long-flowering Arctic Queen™ produces many large double white flowers touched with green. This pretty clematis was introduced by Poulsen Roser International and bred in the United Kingdom by Raymond J. Evison.

Hybrid clematis is a hardy deciduous woody vine that climbs by twining stems. The vigorous single stemmed vine of Arctic Queen™ is lined with green compound leaves that appear in spring. The double white flowers appear all summer and are followed by fluffy clusters of silvery seeds.

Plant this vine in sites with full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. It grows and flowers best if its roots remain cool under a vegetative layer or thick mulch. As with most clematis, this selection adds a vertical element to the garden and looks best when trained on a fence, trellis or pergola.

This is a Group 2 clematis, which means its flower buds develop on the previous year's growth, so pruning should be done after it blooms.
