CLEMATIS 'Kiviviol'( VIOLA, KIVISTIK SERIES) PPAF
Plant Common Name
Clematis, Viola Clematis
The vibrant flowers of Viola™ are deep violet-purple with a prominent contrasting flourish of yellow-green stamens in the center. The vine is compact, heavy-blooming and exceptionally hardy.
Hybrid clematis is a hardy deciduous woody vine that climbs by twining stems. The compact vine is lined with green compound leaves that appear in spring. The colorful flowers appear from late summer to fall and are followed by fluffy clusters of silvery seeds.
Plant this vine in sites with full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. It grows and flowers best if its roots remain cool under a vegetative layer or thick mulch. As with most clematis, this selection adds a vertical element to the garden and looks best when trained on a fence, trellis or pergola.
This is a Group 2 clematis, which means its flower buds develop on the previous year's growth, so pruning should be done after it blooms.
