Family

Ranunculaceae

Botanical Name

CLEMATIS 'Little Duckling'(PIILU®) PPAF

Plant Common Name

Clematis, Piilu® Clematis

General Description

Piilu® clematis is a highly compact, deciduous woody vine that is highly floriferous and blooms longer than many other selections. In late spring through summer, it puts forth many large flowers of bright rose-pink marked with darker rose-pink bands, which appear along twining stems covered with medium green leaves. This clematis grows best in sites with full sun and fertile, well drained soil. Flower buds develop from the previous year's growth, so pruning should be done after plants bloom. If left unpruned, plants will sporadically flower again in fall. As with most clematis, this selection adds a vertical element to the garden and looks best when trained on a fence, trellis or pergola.
