Family

Ranunculaceae

Botanical Name

CLEMATIS 'Margaret Hunt'

Plant Common Name

Clematis, Late Large-flowered Clematis, Margaret Hunt Clematis

General Description

Clematis ‘Margaret Hunt’ is a strong-growing vine that has large star-shaped, dusty pink (with hints of lavender) flowers in mid to late summer. Its pinnate leaves are pale green.

Margaret Hunt clematis prefers a position with at least five to six hours of sun per day and fertile, well-drained soil that is mulched or shaded to keep roots cool and moist. In early spring, prune each stem's growth down to a pair of strong buds above the soil level. ‘Margaret Hunt’ can be used to dress up a wall, trellis, or arbor, or it can be allowed to scramble over shrubs or into small trees.
