Clematis, Early Large-flowered Clematis, Vino Clematis
Clematis ’Vino’ is a vine with large, reddish-purple flowers that bloom in early summer. The petals are overlapping and surround a central clusters of yellow stamen and anthers, which produce pollen.
Clematis vine prefers a position with at least five to six hours of sun per day and fertile, well-drained soil. Shade the rootzone with mulch. In early spring, remove any dead or damaged vines and prune to retain plant height back to an area of strong, healthy buds. ‘Vino’ can be used to dress up a wall, trellis, or arbor, or it can be allowed to scramble over shrubs or into small trees.
