CLEMATIS 'Violet Charm'
Clematis, Early Large-flowered Clematis, Violet Charm Clematis
Violet charm clematis is a deciduous woody vine that bears many flowers early in the season. In mid-spring, medium green leaves appear followed by large flowers of pale violet with soft, wavy petal margins. These will continue blooming into early summer and, if left unpruned, will sporadically flower again in fall. This clematis is a longtime favorite that was bred in 1966 at Solihull Nurseries. It grows best in sites with full sun and fertile, well drained soil. As with most clematis, this selection adds a vertical element to the garden and looks best when trained on a fence, trellis or pergola.
