Coreopsis auriculata 'Elfin Gold'
Elfin Gold Lobed Tickseed, Lobed Coreopsis, Lobed Tickseed
The diminutive coreopsis cultivar ‘Elfin Gold,’ descended from an herbaceous perennial native to the southeastern U.S. It is notable for bright color and long bloom The plant is rhizomatous (spreads by underground stems) with upright leafy branching stems that bloom in late spring to early fall with a profusion of flowers that are yellow orange.
Like most coreopsis, ‘Elfin Gold’ grows and flowers best in full to part sun and well drained, average soil. It will continue to bloom as long as spent flowers are sheared. This coreopsis makes a great addition to sunny perennial borders and containers, and its flowers are highly attractive to butterflies.
