COREOPSIS( BIG BANG™ SERIES)
Coreopsis, Hybrid Tickseed
This entry has yet to be reviewed and approved by L2G editors.
Plants in the Big Bang Series are very showy, tough and hardy perennials, truly living up to the name in the landscape. The result of a string of complex hybrids developed by breeder Darrell Probst, they are upright perennials that flower profusely in a wide range of more unique colors for tickseeds. From midsummer to late fall or frost there will be repeated flushes of flowers, and plants will have finest continued blooming if spent flowers are removed after the heav initial flowering.
Like most Coreopsis, these do best in sites with full to part sun and well drained, average soil. They make great additions to sunny perennial borders and containers, and their flowers are highly attractive to butterflies.
