Masses of yellow daisies grace Citrine tickseed all summer long! An herbaceous perennial selected by Terra Nova Nurseries of Canby, Oregon, 'Citrine' is a low mounding cultivar with bright "flower power". Its bright yellow petals surround a golden orange disk, attracting butterflies and bees. The new flowers emerge among the waning flowers for a continual blossoming display that is long-renewing. Exercise care if deadheading spent flowers so buds aren't sacrificed.
Plant 'Citrine' in a well-draining moist to slightly dry soil that is fertile and not highly alkaline in pH. Capable of enduring drought, water it if both heat and dry soil occur in unison to prevent leaf browning and diminished flowering. This sun-loving perennial is well-suited to the front of perennial borders or as a massed groundcover in a rockery or foundation bed. Hardy only in cool but mild winter temperatures, it's best as a vivid seasonal container plant or bedding annual in cold winter regions.
