Snowberry tickseed is an exceptional hybrid perennial that boasts a pretty display of white and red blossoms with golden eyes. In summer, handsomely mounded plants with deeply divided dark green or bluish green foliage yield hundreds of eight-petaled, creamy white and merlot-red flowers with orange-gold central discs. Butterflies and bees with dance around the flowers every chance they get, but these flowers will not set seed.
Like most Coreopsis, these do best in sites with full to part sun and well drained, average soil that is not excessively acidic. Plants will continue blooming into fall if spent flowers are promptly removed. This butterfly magnet looks stupendous when massed with other sun-loving perennials and ornamental grasses, and is always lovely in meadows.
