COTINUS 'Grace'
Grace Smoketree, Smokebush, Smoketree
Grace smoketree, or smokebush, is a summer blooming deciduous multi-stemmed tree or shrub with multi-seasonal interest. This vigorous cultivar is a cross between Cotinus obovatus and Cotinus coggygria ‘Velvet Cloak’. Its rounded foliage is dark plum to burgundy and turns to shades of red, yellow and orange in the fall. In the summer it bears large pink clusters of frothy or smoke-like flowers.
Smoketree does best in locations with full sun and well-drained soil. Use as a feature plant, screen or in mixed borders.
