DAHLIA 'Dapapu'( DAHLIETTA™ PATTY, DAHLIETTA™ SERIES) PP17127
Dahlia, Dahlietta Patty Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia
The semi-double blooms of Dahlietta™ Patty are magenta-red with lighter tips and gold centers. Its large petals are fold upward giving the blooms a voluptuous look. This vigorous, heavy-flowering dwarf dahlia was introduced by the Ball Horticultural Company and is ideal for container culture.
This warm season herbaceous tender perennial grows from bulbous underground tubers and have rich green compound leaves with toothed margins. The colorful flowers appear continuously and are attractive to bees and butterflies. Remove the old buds from spent flowers to encourage heavier flowering.
Dahlias prefer well-drained, fertile soil and full to partial sun. Ideally, night temperatures should be comfortably cool, and days should lack overbearing humidity. Most hybrids are propagated from divisions or root cuttings to preserve their unique characteristics. In colder regions, plant starts after the danger of frost has passed. In frost free zones, they can be planted in fall for continuous winter color. Dahlias are cold sensitive and their tuberous roots should be lifted and overwintered in a cool dry location, where not hardy.
This exceptional bedding dahlia is ideal for containers and sunny flower gardens.
