DAHLIA 'Gallery Art Nouveau'( GALLERY SERIES) PP11314
Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia, Gallery Art Nouveau Dahlia
A tender, tuberous perennial, 'Gallery Art Nouveaua' is a compact, well-branched dahlia that produces lots of lilac-violet flowers in the warm season. This hybrid has beautiful deep green leaves and miniature, double (extra petals), formal-looking flowers with petals that are red-purple on their undersides. Blooming occurs when temperatures are warm and remain above freezing. Grown as annual it starts in mid-summer and continues until the first frost.
Like most dahlias, 'Gallery Art Nouveau' prefers fertile, well-drained soil and full to partial sun. Ideally, night temperatures should be comfortably cool, and days should lack overbearing humidity. Ensure that plants have good air circulation to forestall the diseases that infect wet leaves. Grow this dahlia as a bedding plant or in a container. It is also good for cutflowers. Lift and store tubers indoors in cold winter regions. In hot and humid or tropical climates, plant the tubers after the height of summer or the end of the wet season.
