DAHLIA 'Gallery Cobra'( GALLERY SERIES) PP12286
Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia, Gallery Cobra Dahlia
A tender, tuberous perennial, 'Gallery Cobra' has a compact, well-branched habit and produces lots of semi-double (extra petals) orange flowers in the warm season. This hybrid has beautiful, dark-green leaves and miniature, formal-looking flowers, with petals that are orange-red on their underside. Blooming occurs when temperatures are warm and remain above freezing. Where grown as an annul, it starts to flower in midsummer and continues until a killing frost.
Like all dahlias, 'Gallery Cobra' prefers fertile, well-drained soil and full to partial sun. Ideally, night temperatures should be comfortably cool, and days should have no overbearing humidity. Ensure plants have good air circulation to forestall diseases that start on wet leaves. It is a good bedding plant, a good container plant and good for cut flowers. Lift and store tubers indoors in cold winter regions. In hot, humid or tropical climates, plant tubers after the height of summer or the end of the wet season.
