DAHLIA 'Gallery Leonardo'( GALLERY SERIES) PP10498
Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia, Gallery Leonardo Dahlia
A tender, tuberous perennial, 'Gallery Leonardo' is compact, well-branched and produces lots of salmon-peach flowers in the warm season. This hybrid dahlia has beautiful deep-green leaves and miniature, semi-double (extra petals), formal-looking, salmon-peach flowers with a yellow-green central eye that may or may not be fully exposed. Blooming occurs when temperatures are warm and remain above freezing. Grown as an annual, it starts flowering in midsummer and continues until a killing frost.
Like all dahlias, 'Gallery Leonardo' prefers fertile, well-drained soil and full to partial sun. Ideally, night temperatures should be comfortably cool, and days should have no overbearing humidity. Ensure plants have good air circulation to forestall diseases that start on wet leaves. It is a good plant for bedding, containers, and cut flowers. Lift and store tubers indoors in cold winter regions. In hot, humid or tropical climates, plant the tubers after the height of summer or the end of the wet season.
