DAHLIA 'Lisa Burgundy'( DAHLINOVA® LISA BURGUNDY, DAHLINOVA® SERIES) PP11790
Dahlia, Dahlinova® Lisa Burgundy Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia
A tuberous perennial from the Dahlinova® series of dahlias, 'Lisa Burgundy' is a compact, much-branched plant with lush leaves and a profusion of double flowers (extra petals) in a deep purplish-red.
Nothing beats dahlias as everblooming bedding plants and cut flowers. These herbaceous warm season tender perennials have bulbous underground tubers. Their green foliage is compound and lush. It is good to remove the buds with spent flowers to encourage continued flowering.
Dahlias prefer well-drained, fertile soil and full to partial sun. Cultivars are often grown from divisions and cuttings to preserve their unique characteristics. However, dahlias in the Dahlinova® Series are grown from seeds. In colder regions, sow seeds after the danger of frost has passed or in the fall in frost-free zones. Dahlias are cold sensitive and their tuberous roots should be lifted and overwintered in cool dry locations where winters are harsh.
