DIANTHUS 'Noverna Purple'( NOVERNA SERIES)
Dianthus, Noverna Purple Dianthus
Long treasured by gardeners for its heady fragrance and distinct bouquet-like heads of flowers, sweet William (Dianthus barbatus) is a short-lived perennial native to southern Europe. The blossoms of the sweet William hybrid 'Noverna Purple' are deep orchid-pink. As with all varieties in the Noverna Series, this F1 hybrid departs from previous sweet Williams by going from seed to showy bloom in a matter of weeks. Flowering continues until fall. The leaves are narrow and glossy dark green.
Noverna dianthus are perfect for mixed borders, containers, annual plantings, or cottage gardens. Average, well drained soil and full sun suit them best.
