Family

Scrophulariaceae

Botanical Name

DIGITALIS purpurea( FOXY SERIES)

Plant Common Name

Common Foxglove

General Description

Common foxglove is a short-lived herbaceous perennial native to Europe. One of the few foxgloves to go from seed to bloom in one growing season, Foxy Series produces showy spikes of tubular carmine-red, pink, creamy yellow or white flowers with dramatic maroon-spotted throats. The coarse fuzzy leaves are concentrated at the base of the relatively compact flowering stems.

Although tolerant of various conditions, Foxy Series does best in humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial sun. It persists by self-sowing. This striking plant makes a nice addition to the cottage or woodland garden.
