Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
This pale-trunked eucalyptus from central, northern and western Australia is also one of the best for arid regions such as the Southwest United States. There (and in other dry, mild-winter climates) it forms an upright, slightly arching, medium-sized tree whose chalk-white bark gleams in the landscape, especially at twilight. The bright green, lance-shaped, pendulous leaves nicely complement the bark. The leaves flutter in the slightest breeze. The flowers and fruits are insignificant.
This sun-loving, cold-tender evergreen is perfect for providing color and texture to arid gardens. It needs good drainage. Plant as a single specimen and prune to interesting shapes for an ethereal character. Few trees can match its ghostly presence on warm moonlit nights.
