General Description

Lindheimer's beeblossom is a long-lived hardy perennial that is native to Texas and Louisiana. The cultivar 'Crimson Butterflies' has a compact habit, red foliage and deep red stems lined with delicate rich pink, open, five petaled flowers with long prominent anthers. These bee and butterfly magnets appear from early summer to fall. Remove spent flower stalks to encourage more flowers and prevent self-seeding.

Crimson butterflies beeblossom is tolerant of drought, heat and humidity. It prefers sites with full sun and well drained, average soil. Plant it in sunny perennial borders, wildflower and rock gardens or containers.
