General Description

A favorite for containers, mixed beds, and bouquets, Gerbera jamesonii is a tender perennial native to South Africa. This selection in the Festival Mini Series bears bright deep pink flowers with large pink centers above evergreen mounds of large, shallowly lobed, dark green leaves. The flowers are smaller but more abundant than those of most other gerbera daisies. In favorable conditions, they continue year-round (with peaks in late spring and late fall).

Plants prefers fertile, well drained soil and full to part sun. When cultivated in a greenhouse gerbera daisy grows best in a soil-based potting mix, cool ambient temperatures and filtered bright light. Spent flowers should be removed to encourage flowering. Plants are highly susceptible to whitefly, especially when grown indoors.
