HEMEROCALLIS 'Asian Artistry'
Asian Artistry Daylily, Daylily
The daylily is a reliable perennial that everyone knows and loves. The lightly fragrant flowers of the midsummer blooming ‘Asian Artistry’ are mauve with wavy edges, chalky lavender bases and creamy throats. They are triangular in shape and open during the day. Later in the season they often re-bloom, especially if deadheaded. The flowers are borne from semi-evergreen foliage that appears in spring, forming neat clumps of bright green strap-like leaves.
All daylilies are easy to grow if provided full to partial sun and average soil with good drainage. Their clumps spread over time and need to be divided every three to four years. Otherwise, they require little care, though it is good to cut their foliage back if it starts to look worn in midsummer. Enjoy them in mixed beds, borders, containers and large mass plantings.
