HEMEROCALLIS 'Aztec Yellow' PP7409
Aztec Yellow Daylily, Daylily
The daylily is a reliable perennial that everyone knows and loves. The small to medium flowers of the early summer-blooming ‘Aztec Yellow’ are clear yellow. They are star to triangularly shaped and open during the day. Later in the season they often re-bloom, especially if deadheaded. The flowers are borne from small clumps of bright green strap-like leaves that are evergreen in southern zones. This cultivar was bred by Robert J. Roberson of The Woodlands, Texas and is a cross between ‘Aztec Gold’ and ‘Charlime.’
All daylilies are easy to grow if provided full to partial sun and average soil with good drainage. Their clumps spread over time and need to be divided every three to four years. Otherwise, they require little care, though it is good to cut their foliage back if it starts to look worn in midsummer. Enjoy them in mixed beds, borders, containers and large mass plantings.
This is a prolific and easy to grow cultivar for commercial tissue culture.
