HEMEROCALLIS 'Bertie Ferris'
Bertie Ferris Daylily, Daylily
The daylily is a reliable perennial that everyone knows and loves. The flowers of the early summer blooming ‘Bertie Ferris’ are persimmon-hued with pale midveins and orange-yellow throats. They are triangular in shape with ruffled petals and open during the day. The dainty flowers arise from diminutive clumps of bright green strap-like leaves that that require some cold for dormancy.
Daylilies are easy to grow if provided with full to partial sun, and average soil with good drainage. Their clumps spread over time and may need to be divided every three to four years. Otherwise, they require little care, though it is good to cut their foliage back if it starts to look worn in midsummer. Enjoy them in mixed beds, borders, containers and large mass plantings.
