HEMEROCALLIS 'Chicago Orchid'( CHICAGO SERIES)
Chicago Orchid Daylily, Daylily
The daylily is by far one of the most popular sun-loving perennials available. It is most revered for its reliability, ease of growth and beauty. The summer blooming ‘Chicago Orchid’ offers large blooms of rosy violet with darker eyezones and yellow-green throats. They are triangular shape and the petals are slightly ruffled. This day-bloomer arises from a neat clump of green strap-like leaves that become fully dormant in winter.
Daylilies are easy to grow if provided with full to partial sun, and average soil with good drainage. Their clumps spread over time and may need to be divided every three to four years. After plants bloom, it is wise to shear back their foliage to allow for a fresh flush of growth. Enjoy these tried and true ornamentals in mixed beds and borders, containers and large mass plantings.
