HEMEROCALLIS 'Red Rum'
Daylily, Red Rum Daylily
Red Rum daylily is a compact herbaceous perennial. Neat clumps of bright green strap-like leaves appear in mid spring. Its single, lily-like flowers of rust red have a yellow throat and appear in summer atop leafless stems. These are mildly fragrant and attractive to many pollinators.
This plant is easy to grow if provided with full to part sun and fertile to average, well drained soil. Daylily clumps slowly spread over time and need to be divided ever two to three years. After plants bloom, it is wise to shear back their foliage to allow for a fresh flush of growth. Enjoy these tried and true ornamentals in mixed beds and borders, containers and large mass plantings.
