HEUCHERA( CANYON SERIES)
Canyon Series Alumroot
Originally developed by Dana Emery at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Canyon Series alumroot was especially bred for compact habit and profuse blooms in all its cultivars. Although quietly attractive in their own right, the diminutive mounds of glossy, green foliage take second stage to the abundance of tiny, tubular, brightly-colored flowers which decorate the plants in late spring.
Alumroots in the Canyon Series need reasonably moist, fertile, well-drained soil and a site receiving partial sun to partial shade. Full sun is appropriate only in regions with mild, cool summers; elsewhere full sun will scald leaves. These versatile little gems may be used in perennial borders, woodland gardens, rock gardens, as container subjects, and even as groundcovers. Bees and hummingbirds are drawn to their bright blooms, which also make excellent cutflowers.
