Heuchera 'Georgia Peach' PP19375
Alumroot, Georgia Peach Alumroot
One of many gorgeous Heuchera introduced by Terra Nova Nurseries of Canby, Oregon, 'Georgia Peach' boasts large, showy leaves in shades of pinkish orange, which turn burgundy-pink in fall and winter. Clusters of white flowers that rise from reddish stems appear in late spring or summer. This is a surprisingly vigorous cultivar that performs well in hot, humid areas. It is semi-evergreen, meaning it remains evergreen where winters are mild but may go dormant and lose its leaves in zones 5 and 6 where winters are very cold.
Heuchera is happiest when grown in partial sun or bright filtered shade similar to that of a naturally open forest. In the South it requires protection from direct afternoon sun. Well-drained, neutral, organic-rich soil with average moisture is needed for best growth and performance. This striking Heuchera is a stylish choice for container compositions, mixed borders or woodland gardens and makes a fine edging plant or groundcover.
The diverse genus Heuchera comprises approximately 50 species and hundreds of hybrid cultivars. These hardy perennials are endemic to North America and are most commonly grown for their attractive basal clumps of evergreen, semi-evergreen or herbaceous foliage that comes in a variety of solid or variegated colors.
