Abiqua Moonbeam Plantain Lily, Hosta, Plantain Lily
The pretty ‘Abigua Moonbeam’ has blue-green leaves with thick lime-green margins. They are egg-shaped and have a corrugated texture much like cardboard.
Hosta is a clump forming herbaceous ornamental grown mostly for its attractive foliage. 'Abigua Moonbeam' has pale lavender flowers that are tubular and appear on tall, sturdy stems in late summer.
Overall, hostas grow best in partially shaded sites and tolerate a wide range of soil types. They have average water needs, but prefer even moisture. In hot and dry conditions most Hosta develop dry leaf edges and tips. They are ideal for shaded perennial gardens or can be massed as an herbaceous groundcover.
