HOSTA 'Fortunei Aureomarginata'
Fortunei Aureomarginata Plantain Lily, Hosta, Plantain Lily
This is a classic large hosta for the garden. White edged plantain lily is a clump forming, shade tolerant, herbaceous perennial that is primarily grown for its ornamental foliage. In spring, it produces a large clump of heart-shaped leaves of dark olive-green with wavy, variegated margins of pale yellow. In midsummer, upright, sturdy stems of trumpet-shaped, lavender-pink flowers appear. This hosta prefers sun to part shade and fertile, well drained soil. It is widely used in mixed perennial borders and massed as a large groundcover for shade. Most hosta are highly susceptible to slug damage.
