Honeybells Plantain Lily, Hosta, Plantain Lily
Hostas are herbaceous perennials grown for their leaves, mounding habit, tolerance for shade, and toughness. This one, the vigorous ‘Honeybells,’ is a medium to large hosta that forms dense mounds of oval-to-lance-shaped, green, glossy, wavy leaves. Fragrant, pale-lavender funnel-shaped flowers appear on leafy stems held above the foliage in late summer and early fall.
Like most hostas, ‘Honeybells’ grows best in full to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of fertile well-drained soils. It prefers average, even moisture. Use ‘Honeybells’ for contrasts of texture and habit in shaded perennial gardens and woodlands, or massed as a groundcover.
