HOSTA 'Lacy Belle'
Hosta, Lacy Belle Plantain Lily, Plantain Lily
Hostas are herbaceous perennials prized for their mounding habit, tolerance for shade, and variety of leaves. This one, the variegated ‘Lacy Belle,’ grows as a cascading clump of tapering leaves that are waxy, glossy, and blue-green with a wide, irregulare creamy-white margin. The flowers are lavender and bell-shaped, appearing on leafless stems held above the foliage in midsummer.
Like most hostas, ‘Lacy Belle’ grows best in full to partial shade, tolerates a wide range of well-drained soils, and prefers average, even moisture. Use ‘Lacy Belle’ for contrasts of texture, habit and color in shaded perennial gardens and woodlands, or massed as a groundcover.
