HOSTA 'Paul's Glory'

Image of Hosta 'Paul's Glory'

James H. Schutte

Family

Liliaceae

Botanical Name

HOSTA 'Paul's Glory'

Plant Common Name

Hosta, Paul's Glory Plantain Lily, Plantain Lily

General Description

Paul's Glory hosta is plant appropriate for a partially shade or partially sunny garden bed, including ones in the warmer southern region of the United States. This is a rare cultivar, being a sport from 'Perry's True Blue'. Emerging leaves are golden and fade into a paler gold surrounded with a band of blue. Pale lavender flower spikes held high above the leaves appear in late spring.

Hostas make beautiful massed groundcovers in woodland gardens, and with their large bold foliage, they compliment fine textured shade plants magnificently in juxtaposition.
