Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
Hosta, Plantain Lily, Revolution Plantain Lily
Hostas are herbaceous perennials grown for their attractive leaves, mounding habit, toughness, and tolerance for shade. This one, the stunning ‘Revolution,’ forms medium-sized, neat, sturdy clumps of pointed, oval leaves that are very thick and ribbed, with creamy white centers flecked and streaked with dark-green, and margins widely streaked in two shades of green. Pale lavender, trumpet-shaped flowers appear on pale leafless stems held above the foliage in midsummer.
Like most hostas, ‘Revolution’ grows best in full to partial shade, tolerates a wide range of well-drained soils, and prefers average, even moisture. Use it for contrasts of texture and color to brighten shaded perennial gardens and woodlands, or massed as a groundcover.
