HOSTA 'Robert Frost'
Hosta, Plantain Lily, Robert Frost Plantain Lily
Hostas are herbaceous perennials grown for their attractive leaves, mounding habit, toughness, and tolerance for shade, This one, the eye-catching ‘Robert Frost, has heart-shaped leaves with wide, creamy-white margins that feather over the gray-green center, producing a beautiful frosty look. The leaves are substantial, corrugated, and tapered to a point, and grow in neat clumps. Pale lavender bell-to-funnel-shaped flowers appear on leafless stems held above the foliage in midsummer.
Like most hostas, ‘Robert Frost grows best in full to partial shade, tolerates a wide range of well-drained soils, and prefers average, even moisture. Use it for contrasts of texture and color in shaded perennial gardens and woodlands, or massed as a groundcover.
