IMPATIENS 'Balfafbricol'( FANFARE™ CORAL BRIGHT, FANFARE™ SERIES) PP17834
Fanfare™ Coral Bright New Guinea Impatiens, New Guinea Impatiens
The colorful Fanfare™ Coral Bright is a lovely hybrid Impatien that offers the heat tolerance of its New Guinea hybrid parentage. It has a spreading habit and deep salmon blooms that glow above lustrous medium green leaves.
This is a tried and true shade-loving bedding plant that everyone knows and loves. Surprisingly, this “annuals” is actually a shrubby tender perennial that will survive winters in tropical and sub-tropical zones.
Clump forming and everblooming, impatiens produce many broad, flattened, five-petaled flowers all season. They are attractive to butterflies, among other insect pollinators. The fruits are ridged, bulbous, green capsules. When mature, they explode when squeezed to spread their seeds. There are hundreds of Impatien cultivars of varying heights and colors.
Impatiens perform best under lower light, partial sun to partial shade is best. They require humus-rich, evenly moist soil that is well-drained and need regular applications of fertilizer for best flowering. All are highly cold-sensitive, so plant them only after the threat of frost has past. If given these conditions, they are easy to grow and make outstanding additions to shaded gardens, containers and hanging baskets. Overwatering can cause stem and root rot.
