Japanese Blood Grass
Native to Japan, cogon grass is an upright, clump-forming grass with light green new growth that darkens to mid-green and turns orangish-tan in dormancy. White seed heads are produced in the late summer. Cogon grass is listed on the United States Federal Noxious Weed List and can not be propagated, transported or sold in some states. It is also a weed in many parts of the world.
