General Description
Margarita sweetpotato vine, also sometimes called 'Marguerite', is a vigorous, herbaceous, trailing vine that originates from Central and northern South America. It grows from swollen, fleshy and edible underground tubers. This ornamental selection has heart-shaped leaves of chartreuse and occasionally produces funnel-shaped flowers of white.
Sweetpotato vine is a heat-loving plant does well when grown in fertile well-drained soil and full to partial sun. It makes a great addition to containers, hanging baskets and mixed borders. In warmer zones this grows as an evergreen perennial climber or rambling groundcover but in temperate zones it is treated as an annual.
