Barik Bearded Iris, Bearded Iris
The large and beautifully colored flowers of 'Batik' make this medium-sized bearded iris a big hit in the early summer garden. Its large, six-petaled blooms have three petals that curve upwards, called standards, and three that curve downwards, called falls. These fragrant blooms are rich grape purple striped with clean white bands and have distinctive yellow beards at the base of each fall. Like all bearded iris, ‘Batik’ has sword-shaped, medium green leaves that are equitant, or fan-like, which are born from slow-spreading bulbous rhizomes.
This Iris prefers full to part sun and rich soil with good drainage. Bearded iris make great cut-flowers and will help any old-fashioned garden shine!
