Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
JUNIPERUS scopulorum 'Cologreen'
Rocky Mountain Juniper
Soft to the touch and greener than many other junipers, ‘Cologreen’ maintains the rugged strength and resilience of its parent, Rocky Mountain juniper. Developed in Colorado, this fast-growing cultivar is especially well-suited to dry, cold climates and rocky soils. It features a dense, symmetrically conical form and scaled, bright green foliage which is more delicate in appearance than that of many other junipers.
Growing best in full sun, Rocky Mountain junipers are adaptable to a range of soils, provided they are well-drained. The columnar form of ‘Cologreen’ makes it a fine choice for privacy screens and windbreaks. It is also terrific for adding structure, vertical interest and year-round beauty to waterwise plantings and rock gardens.
